INTERNATIONAL MASK DONATION INITIATIVE

KOREA

Hands for the Globe (Hands for SoCal’s International Division) worked alongside with GreenPea Club in Korea International School to raise awareness of COVID-19 virus as well as environmentalism through social media. We embarked on student-lead projects in Korea: production of student-made stickers. fundraising, and creation of awareness posts. This was a 5-month long global initiative to spread our cause and we plan to provide reusable masks to elderly people through the donations we receive by the end of November. It became relatively more convenient and easier for regular people to buy masks. However, the profuse amount of masks has started to disrupt our environment. The coronavirus has largely increased the pollution of one-time disposable masks in the oceans, mountains, and beaches. We believe that wearing reusable masks will be a sustainable solution to this problem; hence, we wish to donate reusable masks to many more people in our local communities. For more information, you can contact the international division director. We will continue to spread our mission domestically in Southern California as well as internationally. Thank you for all your praises and support!
